Working with teens

” My daughter says the sessions are helping her a lot, so I really greatly appreciate this.”

Adolescence is a time for the last and biggest growth spur – not just physically, but emotionally too, as you transforming from being a child to becoming a grown up. It can be an amazing and exciting time, but it also has greater challenges and intensities of feelings than you are ever likely to have experienced before. Talking to a supportive adult, who is not a family member or friend can be very helpful. I will not judge you and I will keep the sessions confidential, unless there is a serious safeguarding issue. I really like working with young people and you will be welcomed and treated respectfully. You may initially feel that you would be too embarrassed to talk, but in my experience this quickly passes.

Teenagers seek for help when they experience:

  • Chronic anxiety, depression or shyness
  • Addiction (internet, gaming, drug/ alcohol, food)
  • Bullying
  • Eating disorder
  • Trauma
  • Low self esteem
  • Difficulty to coming to terms with major life events: divorce, grief, changing school etc
  • Self-harm
  • Self-neglect
